Here comes the high-light of the day! Walked right in with englishrosehip, this little boy got all the attention and he loved it hahaha so cute!!
Hi loves, despite my very tight schedule with the dissertation I managed to take some time off and attended the Orla Kiely Tea Party at Coggles on Sunday! This was an event that gave the opportunity to check out newly selected pieces from the Orla Kiely SS12 collection (check out the entire lookbook here) arrived at Coggles. Inspired by American designer Claire McCardell and vintage vogue pattern books, Orla Kiely captured glimpses of the good old summer holidays from the 40s and 50s and gives you a collection that is both pretty and feminine and most importantly, totally suitable for everyday wear. Just as Mark (Mark Bage, Coggles Creative Director) said, ‘The Orla Kiely style has evolved to appeal to women who find inspiration from cinematic 60‘s film stars – feminine, new wave cool and always in control…’. I love love love the prints and the A-line silhouettes. Especially the silhouettes, as it’ll give me a skinny person like me some shape LOL. Oh and the Macrame Swimsuit? Simply too cute for anyone to resist!
Here are some of my favourites from the collection (besides the Macrame Swimsuit, of course):
And I must say, the event was so good! We had tea, cakes (SO yum and were especially made for the party! Thanks Filmore and Union!), 40s music, Prosecco, and these were all complimented by wonderful weather! Not to mention the people at Coggles and the girls from Orla Kiely are just so nice! I love how Coggles is having different kinds of events that is most suitable for the brands they are promoting. Billie, the head of marketing at Coggles, and I were joking about how random it would be if they were to have DJs spinning the track (like they had last time for B store) around the summer dresses hahaha. But really, thoughtful events will attract people from different age groups and the right age group. So yay to Coggles, I am already looking forward to the next occasion!
